Since the 1970's this organization of volunteers main function is to receive land given to the town of Provincetown for conservation purposes. The group oversees and protects the land in perpetuity as well as compiling an inventory of flora and fauna to assess potential recreational use. Contributions of land to the town can be made in exchange for tax advantages. the trust will help to facilitate conservation restrictions on land for tax abatement purposes.
