Fishermen's Wharf.
ASGCC's Annual Auction
With Work by Cynthia Packard, TJ Walton and More
By Kahrin Deines
August 24th, 2008
Twenty-five years may be young for a human, but it’s a ripe old age for an organization that depends on donations to do its work, and that’s the age of the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod.
 | The auction will include original artwork by Cynthia Packard, TJ Walton, Pat DeGroot, Cherie Mittenthal, Harvey Dodd and many others. |

For those 25 years, the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod (ASGCC) has been working hard to help people with HIV and AIDS live long past their mid-20s, and keep a new generation of young men from contracting the disease.
It is now time for you to do your part at the Annual Art Auction on August 30 at the end of Fishermen’s Wharf in a historic fishermen’s work building.
The auction will include original artwork by Cynthia Packard, TJ Walton, Pat DeGroot, Cherie Mittenthal, Harvey Dodd and many others.
AIDS cases have been increasing over the last few years, at the same time as government support for treatment programs has been decreasing, so organizations like ASGCC need help more than ever right now.
The silent auction for the event will begin at 4 p.m., along with a cocktail party, and it will be immediately followed by the live auction at 5:30 p.m.
Donations can also still be made to the auction, and the ASGCC can offer contributing artists as much as a 50 percent commission.
The AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod (ASGCC) was founded in Provincetown in 1983. In 1996, the organization became the lead agency for the Tri-County AIDS Consortium and began to service the entire Cape area, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket.
The organization provides a multitude of services to individuals living with HIV and AIDS in these areas, including medical care referrals, anonymous testing, childcare, nutrition assistance, massage therapy, acupuncture, legal services, in-home care, pet care, group therapy, and transportation.
Through its Gay Men AIDS Prevention Project and Needle Exchange Program, the ASGCC also offers health education and prevention programs in the Barnstable County area. Its Foley House, located in Provincetown’s east end, provides shelter and care for HIV+ adults who are homeless.
