Play Your Hand for the PBG
At the Casino Night on Nov. 28 at The Crown
By Kahrin Deines
November 16th, 2008
They bring you the outsize Carnival Week every summer, the singles’ hit weekend known as Meet Your Man in November, and the Holly Folly festivities every December. They even take the time to compile an annual guide to gay and lesbian Provincetown.
 | The Casino Night benefit will take place on November 28 at The Crown and Anchor. |
|
They are the Provincetown Business Guild, a group of town business owners who put to rest the notion that business guilds don’t know how to have fun.
In fact, they deserve large credit for Provincetown winning PlanetOut’s award of Best Domestic Gay Resort Town for the last three years straight.
The members of the PBG are busy business bees indeed, but from time to time, even the most assiduous must call on the larger community for a bit of support.
And it’s once again time to give the PBG a hand by playing a hand. That’s right, card sharks, poker will be the name of the game, along with blackjack, craps and roulette, at a PBG Casino Night on November 28 at The Crown and Anchor.
For the event, the prizes will be real – as in hard cash. But the stakes will be low, as even if you lose, you’ll still win by putting your money into a pot that benefits the whole town.
In fact, leaving the casino with empty pockets might even be defined as a virtuous act.
So practice that poker face and get your best player’s outfit ready, because here’s a rare opportunity when gambling can be said to give you a good name.
