Calling all oyster and art lovers
First Oyster Plate Art Auction
By Sue Harrison
September 5th, 2010
This is a first! Come and be part of the First Oyster Plate Art Auction at this year’s Wellfleet Oysterfest, Wellfleet’s festive street party celebrating our shellfishing traditions with hometown flavor and lots of fun. The auction benefits Preservation Hall.
 | Join artists Joe Fiorello, Ed Christie, Ellen LeBow, Bob Rindler and your neighbors and be part of this new event that will be talked about for a long time. |
|
There are several ways to be involved:
You can create your own signature oyster plate. It doesn’t have to be functional. It could be painted on a board or canvas or sculpted from clay in your own home or studio. It’s up to your imagination.
Or you can get together with other artists and neighbors at an artist’s house and enjoy snacks and the fun of painting together for a good cause. The oyster plates, the special paints, and the firing will be provideed. You provide your vision.
Your contribution will be entered in the Oyster Plate Art Silent or Live Auction on Saturday, October 16 and the proceeds will go to finishing Preservation Hall to bring back the historic hand-carved doors that have been so carefully restored and open the Hall to great cultural community programs year round.
Join artists Joe Fiorello, Ed Christie, Ellen LeBow, Bob Rindler and your neighbors and be part of this new event that will be talked about for a long time. Please contact Joe Fiorello by September 15th to let him know you’re in: joefiorello@comcast.net, 941-685-9121.
