Come and spend a spend a couple of hours cleaning up one of the Cape's most beautiful beaches. You might even see some right whales! Meet in the northern Herring Cove parking lot (take a right at the entrance kiosk). Dress for the weather and wear waterproof shoes. Bring work gloves if you have them. Beach Parking Lot Closures for Reconstruction

Marconi Beech Parking Lot | Marconi Beech | Wellfleet

each week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from Oct 22nd through Dec 23rd
Work is scheduled to start at the 530 space Marconi Beach parking lot on October 22nd with removal of existing pavement. The contractor will sequence work to allow for the greatest continued public access to the beach as possible. There will be periodic temporary closures of the entire lot as work progresses. Work is scheduled to be completed by December 23, 2015. Reconstruction of the 360 space Race Point Beach parking lot will begin in March 2016 and is scheduled to be completed by May 22, 2016.

CCNS Announces Fee Increases for 2015 Season

Cape Cod National Seashore Locations

every day of each week from May 1st through May 22nd at 8AM
Superintendent George Price announces that the National Park Service Director approved a new entrance fee structure for Cape Cod National Seashore. The new entrance fees are: $3 per person per day (pedestrians and bicyclists); $10 per motorcycle per day; $20 per vehicle per day; and $60 for the seasonal Cape Cod National Seashore sticker for a single, private, non-commercial vehicle. The new entrance fees go into effect on Friday, May 22, 2015.

Join the Center for Coastal Studies and COASTSWEEP on Saturday, September 19 and help us clear trash from Provincetown's Long Point beach. Volunteers should meet at 10 am at the Coastal Studies kiosk on MacMillan Pier to pick up Flyer's Boat Shuttle to Long Point. We should be back on the pier by 12:30, at which time a delicious lunch courtesy of Napi's Restaurant will be your reward for ridding this beautiful beach of harmful marine debris. Cape Cod National Seashore has announced the installation of an innovative outdoor sculpture exhibit at Fort Hill in Eastham. Over the past year, students from the Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School in Harwich carved small figures from wood removed by national seashore crews during the recent restoration of the open fields of Fort Hill. The students were inspired by the natural beauty of the landscape to create organic and naturalistic forms, both abstract and representative, of the animal and plant life of Cape Cod.

Reconstruction of the 360 space Race Point Beach parking lot will begin in March 2016 and is scheduled to be completed by May 22, 2016.


Temporary Closure of Coast Guard Beach Access Bridge

each week on Tuesday and Wednesday from May 19th through May 20th
Superintendent George Price announces that the Cranberry Bog Bridge, which provides access for vehicles to Coast Guard Beach in Eastham, will be closed for repairs on the nights of Tuesday, May 19 and Wednesday, May 20. There will be no vehicular access to the beach parking lot from 5:00pm to 7:00am on those nights; during the day there will be one lane of traffic open over the bridge. Pedestrian and bicycle access to Coast Guard Beach via the Nauset Bicycle Path will not be impacted by this closure. Evening beach access will be available until midnight at Marconi Beach in Wellfleet during this time.

“State of the Seashore” Presentation

CCNS Superintendent George Price will host a “State of the Seashore” program. The program is free, accessible, and open to the public. Superintendent Price will highlight many of the projects that were accomplished in 2015, including a successful partnership with Cape Cod Healthcare on the Healthy Parks, Healthy People program; the upgrading of many trails; development of a parkwide sign plan; significant rehabilitation work at the Captain Edward Penniman House through a successful funding collaboration with Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore and Eastern National; the first phase of repairs to Highland Light; ongoing development of a bicycle and pedestrian master plan, and so on.

The national seashore and ranger/certified yoga instructor Jenna Sammartino were among the first to offer yoga on the outer beach. During this 1-1/2-hour program you’ll stretch the body and the spirit in the most serene of settings, Coast Guard Beach in Eastham. Offered on Fridays at 7:30 AM in July and August. $11. Learn basic paddling technique and how to control a canoe, while exploring the protected Salt Pond in Eastham. Offered on Mondays from 10:30-11:30 AM in July and August. $15; minimum age is 12.
