Eighteen-year-old Anna (Agata Trzebuchowska) is about to take her vows as a nun in 1960s Poland. Before she does, her Mother Superior insists she visit her aunt Wanda (Agata Kulesza), a Communist Party insider, who tells her niece that much of what she knows about herself is untrue. She was actually born a Jew her name was Ida and her parents were murdered by the Nazis during the Holocaust. This shocking revelation leads Anna to visit her family's home and learn more about what happened when she was too young to know. Directed by Pawel Pawlikowski. (Rated PG-13, 80 min.)
