Albert Edel
460 Commercial St. | Provincetown Art Association & Museum | Provincetown
each week on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Apr 19th through Jun 2nd at Noon Exhibition of etchings by Albert Edel. No subject seems to have inspired Albert Edel more than what one writer called the "confusion of activity" on Provincetown's wharves, those alive and picturesque scenes - fish, lumber and coal loading and unloading, net mending and tarring, sail making, and boat rigging, scraping, caulking and painting-scenes that seemed to be anticipating an artist's arrival with easel or sketchbook. Edel found inspiration in his adopted Provincetown, completing a body of work in oil and watercolor, though it is his series of etchings for which he is, today, best known. |
