Guy Wolf - the man behind D.A.M.P. ARTs.
A New Mobile Arts Organization
D.A.M.P. ARTs - Discourse, Art, Music, Plays

There’s a new arts organization on the block in Provincetown. And it may be coming to a block near you soon.
 | Wolf says the organization’s goal is to draw audiences off the beaten path by staging events in both traditional and unusual places. |

It’s the child of the indefatigable Guy Wolf, formerly the director of the Provincetown Theater.
After meeting with many others in the Outer Cape arts community, Wolf came up with the concept of D.A.M.P ARTs, a non-profit arts organization that will serve artists, art groups and businesses in Provincetown and Truro.
The new organization will debut three different kinds of art events over the next year. One of these will feature block parties in various Outer Cape locations, with open artists’ studios, craft and food vendors, and entertainment. No dates have been set yet, but the hunt for locations has begun.
D.A.M.P. ARTs is also going to organize a new mobile arts series called “Art on the Move!.” The series may feature everything from a concert at the Truro Dump to a performance at a guesthouse or restaurant to an art opening in a private home.
Wolf says the organization’s goal is to draw audiences off the beaten path by staging events in both traditional and unusual places.
D.A.M.P. ARTs also plans to get art traveling as well, with a new gypsy art gallery – “Gallery Paul Two” – that will move from location to location for limited engagements. Locations may include model homes, the downtown fire station and unoccupied storefronts. The gypsy gallery will showcase “unrepresented” artists, with the hope of providing emerging artists with revenue and the experience of organizing a show.
The new organization’s first event will take place on April 12 at Fanizzi’s By the Sea, when there will be a benefit reading for the Provincetown Dog Park that will feature work that honors dogs impact on human lives.
