A New Play by Meryl Cohn
''The Siegels of Montauk'' at the Provincetown Theater
By Kahrin Deines
September 25th, 2008
Imagine if once a year somebody wrote a play just for you. And now stop the daydreaming, because that’s just what’s happening – and has been happening for the last seven years – when Meryl Cohn releases her annual Women’s Week play year after year.
 | Buy your tickets in advance, as Cohn's plays usually sell out during Women's Week! |

Cohn’s play for Women’s Week 2008, “The Siegels of Montauk,” will run from Oct. 11 to 19 at the Provincetown Theater.
It follows a cast of three sisters – all with their own secret issues – who return to their family beach house in Montauk after their father’s death to discover a shocking family secret they must navigate together through comedy and conflict.
Cohn’s plays often blend feelings from opposite ends of the emotional spectrum. Her 2006 play “Naked with Fruit” followed four women confronted simultaneously with loss and love, while her 2005 play “And Sophie Comes Too” explored the liberating experience of becoming who you are against the backdrop of loved one’s constraining wishes.
Cohn has twice been a semifinalist for the Eugene O’Neill Playwright’s Conference. She is also a recipient of the Dennis Johnston Playwriting Award. Other Cohn plays include “Reasons to Live By,” “Almost Home,” “Funny, Sexy, Smart,” “Deep Inside,” “Best Man,” and “The Real Sophia,” among other works.
In addition to her work as a playwright, Cohn answers questions about love, sex and relationships in her nationally syndicated advice column “Ms. Behavior.” She is also the author of “Do What I Say: Ms. Behavior’s Guide to Gay and Lesbian Etiquette.”
“The Siegels of Montauk” will show at the Provincetown Theater from Oct. 11 to 19. To find out more about show times or buy tickets, visit www.newprovincetownplayers.org or call 508.487.7487.
