Become an Artist in 2010
Classes at the Museum School
January 3rd, 2010
Perhaps you’ve resolved to learn how to paint this winter, maybe you’ve always wanted to throw clay, or could it be time to return to a neglected passion?
 | A new selection of the museum’s accredited art classes start in February. |
|
Whatever the case, Provincetown is a great place to practice art in the winter. An arts colony for more than a century, the town offers both the solitude and the community to nurture creative endeavors.
There really couldn’t be a better place to come out as an artist.
At the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, which has been a part of the Outer Cape’s vibrant arts scene since the 1920s, workshops are offered year-round. True to its name, PAAM is both a center for exhibits, with a collection of more than 2000 artworks, and an artists’ organization, with art and entertainment events year-round.
A new selection of the museum’s accredited art classes start in February.
Through the workshops, students are invited to work with local, professional artists, developing their own talents while also supporting the Outer Cape’s dynamic art community.
This year’s schedule includes painting, drawing and printmaking workshops. All of the classes are limited in size to offer an intimate learning environment, where students can benefit from close interaction with instructors, explore creative processes and develop their own portfolios.
The classes are designed to accommodate both beginners and advanced students, and the Museum School, like Provincetown, is known for its diversity, with students ranging in age from 17 to 70.
The museum also offers life drawing sessions twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays. The sessions are open to anyone and require no pre-registration.
To find out more about these classes or other events at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, call 508.487.1750 or visit www.paam.org.
