The Provincetown Art Association and Museum 460 Commercial St., Provincetown offers classes and workshops all summer. This week’s classes are: Children’s Art Adventures; Discovering your Right Brain with Monotype Printing Workshop in Eastham with Diane Brinker; The Practice of Painting: A Fundamental Approach to Painting Out of Doors with John Clayton; Painting the Figure with Cynthia Packard; Painting with Ilona Royce-Smithkin; Drawing from Observation with Meg Shields and The White-Line Print with Kathryn Smith.

Slap & Tickle, a provocative and entertaining play at the Provincetown Theater, 238 Bradford St., Provincetown continues its run with performances at 8 pm Tues.-Sat. through Aug. 14. For tickets, call 866-811-4111. Mature audiences. Don’t bring the kids.
WEDNESDAY 7/28
Sarah Blake will read from her bestselling novel “The Postmistress” at 8 pm at ArtStrand Gallery, 494 Commercial St. Provincetown. She is the author of a chapbook of poems, “Full Turn” and two novels, “Grange House” and ‘The Postmistress,” an international bestseller translated into 13 languages. She has taught fiction workshops at The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown and at The Writer's Center in Bethesda, Maryland. She lives with her husband, the poet Joshua Weiner, and their two sons in Washington DC.
The Wellfleet Library offers up a panel discussion,“Transformations: Life into Art,” in which novelist Anne LeClaire, poet Rosalind Pace, musician Harriet Korim and artist Anna Poor will tell you just how they made a life centered around the arts. The talk is at 7:30 pm. Find out how they view the relationship between life experience and creativity.
LeClaire has been featured on NewsHour with Jim Lehrer; Poor exhibits in Provincetown, Boston and NY; Korim’s latest CD “Muses Use Us” was called “compelling and enjoyable by the Boston Herald and Pace’s poetry has appeared in Ploughshares, the Iowa Review and other publications.
Bring your own stories to share. Sharon Leder from the Teichman Gallery in Brewster moderates. A $5 donation is requested.
THURSDAY 7/29
Big day and night on Thursday with the Bobby Miller book release party.
Bobby’s book Ptown Peeps is being celebrated with a book party and photo exhibition from 5 to 10 pm at the Cabral House, 160 Commercial St. across from The Boatslip. If half the models are there it will be a mob scene. Bring your checkbook, books and posters for sale and a big slideshow outside at dusk.
FRIDAY 7/30
Friday nights are traditional gallery crawls in Ptown. This week, the offerings, all starting at 7 pm include Anne Peretz and Michelle Harvey at Rice/Polak Gallery, 430 Commercial St.; Varujan Boghosian, Paul Resika and work by Edward Hopper at Berta Walker Gallery, 208 Bradford St.; Amy Palmer and Michael Palmer at Bowersock Gallery, 373 Commercial St. Anne Blair Brown at Simie Maryles Gallery, 435 Commercial St. There’s more, get out and find them.
