Gabby Hanna, Executive Director of the Provincetown Int’l Film Festival, announced that Deborah Magee has been named Associate Executive Director. PIFF is also going public with a capital campaign to raise a million dollars to purchase the Whalers Wharf Cinema.

The cinema would be used in conjunction with PIFF events in June and equally importantly, would also be used year-round for PIFF programming, mini festivals, independent film showcasing and filmmaker education as well as a host of community events.
At a recent private fundraiser $121,000 was raised. That including a $50,000 matching grant good only for that event. That brings the total raised to $250,000. Fundraising letters will out to the public soon.
Magee has over thirty years of organizational management experience, as a strategist, development director, and operations head, with a particular emphasis on program and economic development.
“We are very excited to have Deborah join the PIFF team,” said Hanna. “Her experience in both fundraising and education will help us achieve our goal in securing a year-round art house cinema (The Whaler’s Wharf Cinemas) and a Film Institute for the Outer Cape Cod area.”
Most recently, Magee served as the Director of Development at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater. She is the former director of the Charles Simon Center for Adult Life and Learning and also served as acting CEO of the Makor Steinhardt Center of the 92nd Street Y.
