Dining can be a challenge for vegetarians and vegans, but in Provincetown you have many delicious options for breakfast, lunch or dinner here are just a few of them.
One of our local favorites, Lorraine's Cafe, has a new location and a new menu for 2014! Now at 338 Commercial Street, the Cafe is now open from 11 am to 9 pm, and you can either dine-in or carry out for a picnic on the beach! There's a wide variety of vegetarian goodies, from tofu scramble burritos, falafel or hummus and vegetable dishes, black bean burgers, and six different generous salads, all with the option to add tofu on top to make them a meal!
You'll find dinners such as a Moroccan Vegetable Tagine, featuring layers of vegetables, chick peas, sultanas and almonds, served over couscous.
Opened last year, Devon's Deep Sea Dive also has some yummy goodies for vegetarians, including items like North African Lentil Stew, a kale salad with strawberries, Stilton and pine nuts. Open for breakfast and dinner, they also have some great breakfast options including gluten-free buckwheat pancakes with wild Maine blueberries, a fruit plate with melon, strawberries, blueberries, grapes & bananas (you have the option to add vanilla yogurt), tofu vegetable scramble, and even vegan breakfast patties and smoked tempeh strips!
Dine at Cafe Edwige,where you'll find dinners such as a Moroccan Vegetable Tagine, featuring layers of vegetables, chick peas, sultanas and almonds, served over couscous, a Cape Cod salad of field greens, dried cranberries, fresh beets and goat cheese, and brunch choice like fruit crepes with homemade granola and yogurt or perhaps a tofu scramble.
The Pointe at Crown Pointe, offers salads, snacks to share and side choices, as well as Seared Tofu with brown rice, asparagus and seasonal vegetables.
The Central House at the Crown and Anchor offers numerous fresh seafood lunches, a Veg Burger with hummus, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, and a Veggie Sandwich with grilled eggplant and peppers, pickled onions, tomato jam & goat cheese. For dinner try the Spring Risotto with Asparagus, English peas, spring onions & herb pesto. There are Small Plate options as well as sides and salads so you can “create your own” meal.
