While you're vacationing, you don't have to miss out on your workout routine! No matter how you work your body, you can find your favorite way to stay in shape or maybe try something new.
Is bike riding your preferred workout? There are four bike shops to choose from! Our newest, the Bike Shack, is operated by brother-sister team Steve and Liz Athineos, and is an authorized dealer of Giant and Fuji bicycles. All bikes for sale are chosen for the highest standards in rider comfort, reliability, outstanding manufacturing quality, world renowned customer service, attractive styling and convenient features! All their rental bikes come with a basket, rear rack, and front and rear lights (now required by MA Law), as well as a helmet and lock. You can rent the right wheels for every member of the family (including trailers for young kids), and most bikes rent for $12 for the first two hours, up to $22 for 10-24 hours! They will also rent by the week or the month! You save on a rental car and gas, are being ecologically friendly, and it's great low-impact exercise you can enjoy outdoors! Other choices for bike rentals include Gale Force Bikes, Ptown Bikes and Arnold's (no website, around the corner from Lopes Square). All offer repair services, parts and accessories.
If you like a smaller, more intimate group for working out, you can choose from a number of yoga studios!
Prefer your fitness routine in the gym? Mussel Beach Health Club and Provincetown Gym offer daily and weekly passes so that visitors can keep up their fitness regimen in air conditioned comfort. If you're here working, you can even purchase a 3-month Summer Membership! Mussel Beach is once again offering their exclusive Beach Bootcamp, a fast-paced, high energy workout in the sunshine on Monday and Wednesday mornings! Both gyms offer free weights and circuit training machines, treadmills and steppers, saunas and tanning booths, and classes in yoga, spinning, aerobics and more. At Provincetown Gym, they offer classes in Boot Camp, Kettle-Bell, Step, TRX, Yoga, Pilates, Cardio Kick Boxing and Boxing. Their aerobics room was updated this year to add straps for both their TRX system, and to hold stronger clamps for heavy/speed/feather bags for boxers.
If you like a smaller, more intimate group for working out, you can choose from a number of yoga studios! At Yoga East, you can choose classes in Vinyasa , Yin Yoga, Hot Yoga, Kripalu, Ashtanga and more. They also hold Community Acupuncture and Zen meditation sessions. One of summer's most popular workouts is their Stand-up Paddle-boarding, held in the harbor!
At StillPointWithin, owner/instructor Will Coons will guide you through yoga classes based in Kripalu hatha yoga, with some integration of mat Pilates and Qigong. His most popular class is early morning yoga at the Boatslip Resort, which is a great way to stretch out, center your mind for the day, and watch the sun's travels across the sky over our lovely waterfront. Mr. Coons, also a well-established and licensed Massage Therapist, can incorporate a variety of massage techniques into your treatment, including Swedish, Shiatsu, Sports, and other techniques. He is a long-time member of the Association of Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) and is a licensed massage therapist.
Do your prefer Pilates? Then Strength & Clarity Pilates-Movement Studio is the place for you! They offer a variety of Pilates classes, TRX, several yoga classes, a great Zumba cardio workout, ballet barre, and even a ballet and creative movement class for kids! All their instructors are highly experienced and certified.
