When people think of Cape Cod, they tend to think of sunbathing on the area’s renowned beaches or other such summer exploits. Winter, however, is a wise-person’s time to visit Provincetown.

The summer crowds are otherwise occupied and the town settles into a peace and quiet that gives it just the right kind of tone for a relaxing getaway on the edge of the American world.
In the off-season, the town itself seems to be resting and its serenity calls to be met with slow walks, lingering meals, leisurely shopping, and long and lazy afternoons.
Many of the town’s eclectic boutiques and shops remain open year-round, and they often offer sales during the winter and spring. Likewise, discounts are available at guesthouses outside of the peak summer months, making it possible to visit for less money and longer.
Along with the deals, the Outer Cape’s culture and natural beauty stand out more strikingly with the summer crowds and distractions removed.
