Baby Dykes go WILD with twenty bucks each

Memorial Day is the annual kickoff for season in New England’s beach resort towns but nothing compares to the explosion of beer drinking shot swilling women who come to Provincetown for this holiday. What better group to give the GO WILD challenge to go buy something with twenty bucks? Some very tired women actually turned down the opportunity but a few stepped up to the plate and went shopping!

As I waited for my shoppers to return at the corner of Standish and Commercial, I sat in front of Hersheldons and then popped back a beer at the Governor Bradford. A large group of women were nursing their hair of the dog hangovers over a chess board, while other clans of friends bounced down the streets with an athletic swagger.
Coined “baby dykes”, this word of mouth lesbian event is at least ten years old, says GO WILD shopper Jennifer Broucki, a 34 year old IT specialist. She brought her claims adjuster babe Bridget Flynn, 39 (who looks all of 25), who was here for the first time ever! This happy, perky couple was willing to partake in our economically stimulating challenge. They bought each other jewelry at Hocus Pocus, buying a shell necklace ($12.95) and bracelet ($9.95) to remember their very special weekend.

Occupational software consultant Kathie Kobleski, 35, was on Commercial Street with gal pals and used her magic twenty dollars to buy back home loved ones presents. Her foodie girlfriend got a chef’n palm peeler ($6.99) at Utilities, where there are tons of hot items for gifts. She also got her pooch a hand made doggie bowl on sale ($12.48) at Womencrafts, Kathie’s absolutely favorite store.
Coming for the weekend with their house of eight badass girls from Queens, Michelle Mittler, a 21 year old political science student and former HRC, Washington, DC, activist, has a thing for license plates ($2.95 each) that she found at Marine Specialties. Her hottie x-ray tech girlfriend Lindsay Batiato, 26, from Brooklyn, went crazy for military patches (19 cents to $3.95) to sew onto her urban gear.
