Hot Buys under $30: Part One
By Laura Shabott
May 17th, 2010
Provincetown’s fabulous fashionista, Aaron Stanley, was on a mission; what was hot for under $30.00 along Commercial Street? This curious reporter followed him around to see what a master shopper could find on the strip.

First stop was the irresistible Good Scents at 351 Commercial Street, a cosmetic junkie’s heaven with great products that are surprisingly affordable. Aaron was bored with Farragamo, so perfumer Raymond Trevino worked his magic to create his signature cologne for a mere $25.00. The company’s line of lotions, creams and soaps also comes with a custom scent. Step aside, J.Lo! Aaron wanted to try Ahava’s CED award winning ‘Pure Treat’ Dead Sea liquid salt ($23) for a full body vacation. What a delicious idea.
Next was Rachel Harrington’s shop du moderne, B.XCLUSIVE. This supermom of two is on the pulse of limited edition accessories by designers from the urban jungles. Who could resist the Japanese Anime Kitty, part of Rachel’s 100 plus collection of belt buckles for under $25? No one! B.XCLUSIVE is also getting khaki gear that’s edgy for local workers to strut their stuff at the job. At the corner of Ryder and Commercial (283B), Rachel’s basement boutique is hot.
Aaron tried to pass by Provincetown’s Marc Jacobs (184) but resistance was futile. I got swept up in the moment with a great selection of flip flops ($11), lil LOWER coolers ($6) and bathing suits for hot bodacious days ($24 and up). He was entranced by the Neon Rain Boots ($28) artfully worn with maripol’s “American Woman” for Marc Jacob. Sporting a Signature Canvas Tote ($28), Aaron worked those stairs with his Aviators (price on request) and fainted from retail ecstasy. Photographer David Sokoll caught the moment, creating fashion magic.
It was so much fun that Jimmylee agreed to the challenge for next week’s trot around Provincetown. Let’s see what the Mamalee can cook up for hot buys under $30!
