Awesome Gifts for $20 or Less
Notes from Land's End: Dec. 6
By Laura Shabott

Being on a budget this holiday season will be easy if you do your gift shopping right here in Provincetown. This roving Christmas elf went out during the Holly Folly Shop Hop and found awesome presents for under a sawbuck.

Bradford Natural Market has hundreds of gift-worthy products for the gluten-free, organically inclined or health conscious on your list. The Green & Black Organic Chocolate Classic Collection is just $13.00 and Bloomin’ Flower Cards and Tags ($3.50 to $7.50) are a garden patch message for spring. Owners Joe and Chris are great holiday hosts, with a daily hot lunch that is sublimely good for you ($8.99/pound) by FarmMaid’s 141 Kitchen.
Next stop was to mail off some sensationally sugary “Scottcakes”, now available to ship for the Xmas Season. The iconic pink-frosted butter-cream cupcake became all the rage when actor Scott Cunningham was brought to court for selling these morsels on Commercial Street in 2010. Now, with his own location across from the Provincetown library, Scottcakes will send out a half dozen for $15.00 (plus shipping) with frosting instructions available on YouTube. Check this out: The ScottSwirl! Call 508-487-PINK to order.

Hyped out on spirulina, carob and sugar, it was time to go to Wired Puppy, at 379 Commercial, to get a pound of Holiday Hound, a dark blend of lovingly roasted beans, as a stocking stuffer ($13.00). Of course, sipping a cup of Sweet Puppy Love was a nice break as friends, visitors and their pooches came in and out.
I bounce off to the home and kitchen accessories sale at Utilities, down the street at the beginning of the Gallery District (393 Commercial). First off, purchases come with the fab eco-friendly bag, modeled by visitors and shop hoppers Jon, Don and pup Joey. There are over one thousand hot buys in this store for under twenty dollars, so visit the lovely space or check out their website, www.utilitieshome.com I love the Thomas Paul Scrimshaw collection, with a set of 4 nautical knot coasters for $16.99.
Heading back west, the glint of jewels beckons me into Sparks at 364 Commercial. High-quality affordable earrings, necklaces, rings and things make Liz’s store a treat. There is something for every girl on your list. In its 22nd year, Sparks is designing a glamorous shopping website, launching soon. Call 487-9377 for more.
Raymond at Good Scents is the product guru to skincare junkies like yours truly. Old World architecture meets spa quality treats for the face and body in this lovely shoppe. Soaps go from $4.00 to $15.00, with masks by Express ($5.50 for two treatments) that brighten your holidays with at-home rejuvenation. Jack Black Skincare ($19.00 cleanser) is a wonderful pick for the man on your list. Good Scents also has a custom cosmetic line and a super-friendly website, with shipping and selection made easy.
There are wonderful gifts for twenty dollars or less right here at Land’s End. Happy Shopping!
