If you’ve been to Provincetown for a visit during one of the last few summers, then you’ve likely had the luck to stumble into a crowded cabaret room at The Crown and Anchor and listen to one of their lively performances. As is often the case with their audiences, perhaps you even found yourself singing along or maybe dancing. In any case it’s certain you made a few friends.
No less can be expected when they return for three nights of performance to bring in the New Year in Provincetown.
They will perform on Dec. 29, Dec. 30, and of course Dec. 31. Hats and noisemakers will be available at their performance and The Crown’s Central House will be serving a special New Year’s Eve menu.
Mary and Brian have been working their charm and talent together in cabaret rooms for over twenty years, since they first began appearing as a duo during college. They have opened for the singer and songwriter Steve Tyrell and worked with most of Boston’s star cabaret acts in that time.
In Provincetown the duo has become a kind of cabaret institution and when a big star comes to town, they often show up for a song with these two after their own show, as do many of the town’s drag performers.
Besides entertaining their audiences with a seamless stage rapport that comes from so much time together, they are incredibly flexible performers and can bring to life just about any audience request. They usually perform a mix of Broadway standards and contemporary songs, but can be expected to roll out some holiday tunes during these December performances.
