June is Happening!

Provincetown is hopping! Come enjoy all it has to offer!

June 15th, 2013

Provincetown is hopping! Come enjoy all it has to offer!

Come for a day, a weekend or more, and sample all the fun and frolic Provincetown offers!

It's mid-June and the town is alive with entertainment of all kinds. You don't have to wait for the Fourth of July to experience all Provincetown has to offer for summer entertainment.

The Crown and Anchor entertainment complex has a whole lineup of great entertainers for June, including Provincetown's longest-running and exciting drag revue, "Illusions," famed comic Kate Clinton, and local favorites Dina Martina and Miss Richfield 1981. In their Central House, you can enjoy (and sing along with) our ever-popular Bobby Wetherbee, jazz duo Debra & Patrick, and the high-energy Doug Repetti. You'll be tapping your feet all night!

The A-House is the new venue for Ryan Landry's open-mike "talent contest" called "ShowGirls." The Monday night show has become an institution in Provincetown, with a mixture of drag queens, gay and straight locals and tourists offering up their talents to delight the audience.

The Provincetown Theater is presenting a rollicking and slightly raunchy musical comedy, "Pornocchio.", presented by Ryan Landy and the Gold Dust orphans. This is NOT your children's fairy tale, and not suitable for children, but it DOES have splashy musical numbers, tap dancing puppets, drunken sprites, sleazy foxes, greasy Sex Peddlers, evil Smut Smugglers, amorous Donkeys and more fun than you can probably handle in one evening! Shows are scheduled for June 18th and 25th. You can purchase tickets at the Theater's web site.

Climb to the top of the Pilgrim Monument and you can photograph the panoramic beauty of our Town in its many moods, then enjoy the exhibits at the adjacent Provincetown Museum. This year, they've opened their new Shallop Café, which carries sandwiches and salads, ice cream and sweet treats.

Less athletic visitors can enjoy art, music and lectures at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum. PAAM is also starting their summer concert series with the renowned Bart Weisman and other regional jazz musicians and vocalists on June 26th.

All of our galleries are open, so it's a great time for a leisurely day of gallery strolling and lunch or dinner at one of our restaurants, which feature Italian, Brazilian, South African, and Continental cuisine, southern barbeque, raw bars and great seafood spots, and more. Whether you want hot dogs of five-star dining, you'll find whatever you crave!

Summer is here now, so what are you waiting for? Come for a day, a weekend or more, and sample all the fun and frolic Provincetown offers!
