More Hot Summer Night Entertainment!

Arias, a drag chanteuse legend, has been touring the world including a solo concert at Central Park Summer Stage, Carnegie Hall and The Southbank Centre in London.

If you thought we'd exhausted the opportunities for fun in our last Happenings article, well…..wait! There are even more entertainments to choose from!

Marking their second summer in Provincetown, the highly acclaimed all-male singing string quartet Well-Strung returns to the Art House until the beginning of September. Called "delightful and novel" by Huffington Post and "the hottest thing with a bow since Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games" by the New York Daily News, they mix classical pieces by composers such as Mozart and Vivaldi with contemporary tunes by Adele, Lady Gaga and more, and create a sophisticated cabaret-style evening for the audience. You can purchase tickets through a link on their website, and shows start at 7:30 pm.

The Art House is also the home toVarla Jean Merman in her newest show, "Twice Upon a Mattress: Will my Prince ever Come?" After years of kissing frogs, toads and other slimy creatures, Varla is tired of trying to make her prince come. Should she toss it all aside and embrace her inner Evil Queen? With Grimm stories, a castle's worth of couture and a libido that could wear out seven dwarves, this diva is wide awake and ready to give everyone a happy ending! Shows start at 9 pm.

One of the hottest Art House tickets this season will be Joey Arias and Raven O when they bring their "Wanted Live" show to town starting July 6th. Arias, a drag chanteuse legend, has been touring the world including a solo concert at Central Park Summer Stage, Carnegie Hall and The Southbank Centre in London. Joey’s show “Arias With a Twist” played to sold out crowds in NYC, Los Angeles, Washington DC and Paris as well as run as the “Mistress of Seduction” in Cirque Du Soleil’s “Zumanity” in Las Vegas. Raven O just finished six yearsas the “Ringleader of Debauchery” for the notorious nightclub “The Box” in NYC and London and “The Act” in Las Vegas. In 2010, critics raved about his off Broadway show The duo have their roots in jazz. Arias has been called “Lady Night” to Billie Holiday’s “Lady Day” and Raven O is described as “the new face of jazz”. They plan to mix standards and pop with their unique chemistry and comedy, which has flourished during their 20 year relationship as performers and close friends. The engagement runs through September 1st, and shows start at either 9 or 10 pm.

Provincetown producer Erik Pierce brings his new show "Forever Blonde" to the Provincetown Inn for the season, with several performances each week until September 2nd. Called the must-see family show of the summer, "Blonde" features visually exquisite costuming brought to life by choreographed dance routines ranging from pop, contemporary, line, jazz, cabaret, go-go & Bollywood. Local singer/actress Darlene VanAlstyne takes the stage with 8 dancers for an hour-long concert style dance revue highlighting performances & unforgettable musical moments of female artists that share an obsession with Blonde Hair set to the music of artists including Shakira, Pink, Adele, Taylor Swift, Bette Midler, Dolly Parton, and others.
