Women of Color & Friends

June 3 to 6

May 23rd, 2010

Hundreds of women will be gathering in Provincetown between June 3 and 6 for the popular Women of Color & Friends Weekend.

Rapper Feloni also will be in town for a blowout part at The Crown’s Paramount Nightclub on June 6. And if you’ve got the talent, an open mic is taking place on June 4, with guest artist C.C. Carter setting the tone.

Organized by Lynette Molnar, the woman behind Girl Power Productions, the event offers a full slate of activities, from tequila tasting to dune tours, and a star entertainment lineup.

The play Walk Like a Man, a “dramedy” exploring stereotypes in relationships, is being staged at the Art House.

Laughter master Karen Williams is set to perform her show Color Me Queer on June 5 at The Crown and Anchor, while comedians Mimi Gonzalez, Sandra Valls and Mildred Gerestat will be starring in a drag show – aka Dark, Dirty and Dragalicious – at the Art House on both June 4 and 5.

Rapper Feloni also will be in town for a blowout part at The Crown’s Paramount Nightclub on June 6. And if you’ve got the talent, an open mic is taking place on June 4, with guest artist C.C. Carter setting the tone.

Even a celebrity chef – Chef Josie, a contestant from Bravo’s Top Chef – is in the weekend lineup, offering a cooking demonstration at The Crown and a three-course dinner at Bistro 404.

Also not to be missed, local chef Lorraine Najar is yet again serving a special dinner at her restaurant (Lorraine’s), along with the ever-popular tequila tasting.

And, of course, let’s not forget deck parties at the Pied Bar, pool parties and more!

For some of these events, advance tickets and registration are required. To find out more about the Women of Color & Friends Weekend and to buy tickets, go to www.womenofcolorweekend.com.
