Girl Splash Turns Up the Heat

July 12th, 2010

A weeklong beach frolic and a string of hot harbor-side dance parties with other women . . . need we say more?

The days are filled with beach play, shopping along sea-breeze-kissed Commercial Street, exploring the Cape Cod National Seashore and taking time out for sunsets and tea dances.

Girl Splash, the most popular summer event for lesbian and bisexual women, takes place from July 21 to 25.

The days are filled with beach play, shopping along sea-breeze-kissed Commercial Street, exploring the Cape Cod National Seashore and taking time out for sunsets and tea dances.

Once the day’s adventures end, it’s time for dance parties at The Pied’s harbor-front bar and sampling Provincetown’s world class entertainment scene.

Some of the highlights for 2010 include a Girl Splash Idol Contest and shows with Sandra Bernhard, Kate Clinton, Vickie Shaw and Jennie McNulty.

Sunset schooner sails, dune tours and beach bonfires are also on the schedule, along with wine and tequila tastings, digital photography workshops and deep sea fishing.

Tickets and VIP passes are available for many of the events online at www.girl-splash.com.

Lynette Molnar, the event’s organizer, is one of the founders of the famous Provincetown Women’s Week that takes place every October. In the last few years, she has also launched the popular Single Women’s Weekend and the Women of Color & Allies Weekend. In addition, she is the founder of the popular Girl Power Events series, which presents sizzling parties for women at the Pied Bar all summer long.

Since Provincetown’s other women’s events fall in the spring and fall, Girl Splash gives women a chance to gather together in the middle of Provincetown’s beautiful summer season to enjoy the area’s outdoor charms.
