An Exhibition by Rob Longley

The unifying element in all of my painting is light. Whether it is a sunlit pond on a summer afternoon, the early morning fog, a stormy sky, or moonlight on the bay, the light is the first thing that I am looking to capture. I am fortunate to live and work in Provincetown because the light here is renowned for its exceptional beauty. Every day, even in the depths of winter, I can look around and say to myself, “This is beautiful.” I have chosen these paintings as a small representation of how the light in Provincetown and the Outer Cape inspires me. In fifty-five years of painting here I have never tired of it.
